Graduate Research Assistant
Biography
Kriss Gabourel is graduate research assistant for the Postsecondary Education Research Center (PERC) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her research interests include Big Data in higher education, business intelligence design, and the role of community colleges in higher education. Kriss is a Bredesen Center student pursuing a PhD in Data Science and Engineering with an emphasis in Higher Education Research. She holds a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics from UT Knoxville and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Florida A&M University. Prior to returning to school, Kriss worked in the University of Tennessee System Office of Institutional Research as a data analyst. She was a principal designer of the System’s consolidated data repository. She also served as lead user for the System Business Intelligence Team. In her spare time, Kriss enjoys making music and spending time with her family.
Research
Kriss is currently an associate on a research project outlining the role and framework of big data in higher education research.
